Dear Lake Arrowhead Neighbor,

Greetings! We hope this letter finds you well. We are grateful that you have chosen to live in the Lake Arrowhead community, and we hope that you are enjoying the peace and serenity that can be found in the Winter season in our little corner of the world. Our few blocks are not just a collection of houses; they form a close-knit community that tries to look out for one another and that shares in the appreciation of the natural beauty that surrounds us.

WATERFRONT RENEWAL PROJECT

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and provide you with an exciting update on LAC’s Waterfront Renewal Project. We are overjoyed to share that we have obtained Planning Board approvals on the project. The project is scheduled to proceed in 2024! Please refer to the Waterfront Renewal section of the brochure for more details.

NEW LTAC COMMITTEE FOCUSING ON HEALTH OF LAKES

In late-2023, a new committee was established called the Lake Arrowhead Technical Advisory Committee or LTAC for short. This group has been entrusted with analyzing the condition, health and presentation of our lake bodies, including heathy ecological balances of aquatic wildlife. While the lake association has been well-managing lake treatments and other lake health activities over the years, the need to evaluate and remediate invasive species growth, algae, lake debris and sediment has not been comprehensively analyzed in quite a while. The objectives of this group are to identify issues and concerns, develop remediation and management plans, evaluate new approaches and technologies, and ultimately make recommendations to the board for lake health improvements and budgeting. The initial work of the committee has commenced, and first recommendations from the working group are expected within a couple of months.

BOARD MEETINGS – 3rd Wednesday of each month

Lake Arrowhead Club, Inc. is governed by an elected Board of Trustees who volunteer their time in service of the Lake Arrowhead community. Board meetings are held monthly at the clubhouse and are open to all residents in good standing.

The 2024 Board meeting schedule is the THIRD WEDNESDAY of each month at 7:30 pm, with the exception of: November which is the Annual Membership Meeting – still to be held on third Wednesday, but which will start at 8:00 pm.

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR

As proud members and volunteers of the Lake Arrowhead community, we are reaching out to you with our annual campaign for the payment of mandatory Easement-holder fees. Each property’s timely payment of these fees allows us to keep the wheels in motion by paying the necessary expenses that come along with the upkeep of our shared community assets.

EASEMENT-HOLDER FEES: $319 per year (or $294 for Forest Section)

As fellow Easement-holders, we are privileged to have the option to enjoy the three private lakes of the community as well as the boat storage and launch areas, and Butterfly Field. As stewards of our special surroundings, we collectively bear the responsibility of maintaining and preserving our assets – for us as well as for future generations.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP DUES: $200 per year

Lake Arrowhead Club presents a special shared place for neighbors of all ages and stages of life to come together and enjoy each other’s company – whether on the beach, in a sporting activity, or just relaxing at the clubhouse. We have been fortunate to have new, proactive members who have joined the Club and revitalized the social calendar by hosting new events that have added a great deal of excitement to the Club. We remind you that any Club member can propose running a new event – with general guidelines found on the website. If anyone has ideas and any questions about the process for hosting a new event, please reach out to Bridget as Membership Chair.

If you choose to renew your membership in the Lake Arrowhead Club in 2024 or join for the first time – and we hope you do! – the 2024 Club Membership dues are $200 a year. If you rent your property, please inform your long-term tenant(s) that they are entitled to join the Club.

Lake Arrowhead Club is looking good with significant improvements to the beach and clubhouse having been implemented over recent years. We are proud of the position that we have put ourselves in, thanks to your support.

DONATIONS

Lake Arrowhead is approaching a significant milestone – our centennial celebration in 2027 – and we’re excited to embark on the next chapter of our history together. As we approach this centennial celebration, we recognize the importance of maintaining the beauty that has defined Lake Arrowhead for generations. Any donation within your comfort level will directly contribute to the upkeep and improvement of our community assets, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the natural splendor that we hold dear.

It has become common for many of our residents to “round up” their annual payments with a donation of varying levels. We count on this round-up to fund continual improvements, and we sincerely appreciate your generosity.

As a reminder:

– Your Easement contribution is mandatory for all residences within the Lake Arrowhead community. The 2024 annual fee is $319, or $294 for properties in the Forest Section.

– A portion of the easement fees is attributable to property taxes, and your pro rata share may be tax deductible. Please talk with your accountant for advice. For 2023, the property taxes within the easement fees amount to 27.6% of the easement amount.

– If you have a financial hardship and would like to discuss a payment plan, please call Bridget to discuss options.
