Waterfront Renewal
The scope of work entails:
replacement of the apron decking area from the clubhouse to the beginning of the beach;
addition of pilings underneath the apron decking area as needed;
constructing a pier perpendicular to the apron
adding a modest “T-dock” at the end of the pier to fit 4 adirondack chairs;
additional “bells & whistles” as the budget allows.
Due to our community’s enthusiastic response and generous donations in support of this project, we are ready to take the next step. Engineering calculations have been completed by a local Professional Engineer (P.E.) specializing in docks in the area. Since an initial visit in 2019, we have been in weekly contact with our contractor who is a specialist dock and marine contractor from Northern New Jersey. As most of you may know, there have been nagging supply chain issues leading to high material costs and availability especially in the construction sector.
Our contractor has been struggling to put together quotes involving different options so that we can get the most for our money; this process is still ongoing. We have already received estimates from construction companies giving us options for the apron replacement and now are just waiting to see how this will fit into the rest of the picture. As much as it pains us to say, if the current state of affairs damages our budget to the extent where we cannot get what we planned, worst-case scenario is having to wait it out a bit longer until conditions improve.
We sincerely thank you for your patience. Stay tuned!
